Brake systems for agricultural machines

SAFIM has a very wide range of components for braked trailers and farm trailers.

Standards

• The EU "Commission WG2" working group is currently working on common rules for the entire union, but until these are complete each country will follow its own national rules.
• Brake components and cylinders according to the Italian standard CUNA 341/01.
• Brake components and cylinders according to the French and Swiss standards.
•  We have also developed a system for the new Swedish standard, which has a retardation requirement of 45%.
• Introduced at the turn of the year 2004/5.

Technical features

 Farm trailer valves

• Trailer valves for tractors with hydraulic or mechanical brakes.
• Trailer valves for various ratios.
• Trailer emergency valves that direct power to the brakes in the event of trailer hitch failure, for example.

Cylinders

• Multifunction cylinders (road brake, parking brake and emergency brake), e.g. for applications with S-cam brake and cam shaft brake.
• Simple pressure cylinders.

Operating range

Multifunction cylinders:

• Brake return pressure after release of spring pressure 73 to 102 bar.
• Force applied to torque arm 694 to 1388 daN.
• Operating temperature range -20 to +90 degrees Celsius.

New designs

We are able to develop and produce custom spring brake cylinders for special requirements and applications.

The following photo shows an example of a series of cylinders that have the same installation dimensions and are available with pistons in a range of diameters.

Complete brake system kits for agricultural trailers and other trailers.

We have long experience of custom-building complete brake system kits that are supplied direct to the customer’s assembly lines on a regular basis as required.

Assembly kits can include, for example:

•  Brakes, which can also be specially adapted with customer-specific axle studs, etc.
•  Cylinders for applying force.
• Valves.
•  Complete brake lines with associated couplings.
• Can be packed and specially labelled, etc., according to customer’s requirements.
